The Chicago Blackhawks lost an important game Saturday night against their Central Division rivals, the Nashville Predators. The game finished 5-2 for the Preds, and Ray Emery game into the game with about 4 minutes left in the second period in relief of Corey Crawford.
I was wrong in thinking that Ray Emery was going to start one of the back to back games the Chicago Blackhawks had this past weekend, but he did start last Thursday, which was their first of three games in four nights. Again this week they will be playing three times in four days.
Looks like my wish of Ray Emery NOT starting tonight’s game against the Minnesota Wild won’t come true, since he is the announced starter in nets for the Blackhawks.
Chances are Corey Crawford will get the start tomorrow against Minnesota since he has been playing well, and that’s fine by me, because I’m hoping Ray Emery will play in the first of the Blackhawks back to back games this weekend.
Tomorrow night the Chicago Blackhawks are hosting the Detroit Red Wings and it will be broadcast on National TV in both the US and Canada on NBC Sports and TSN2 respectively, but which goaltender will get the start?
You knew it was going to happen at some point, and well, it did last night. The Chicago Blackhawks lost 3-2 to the Penguins, Ray Emery played decent, but Marc-Andre Fleury played great.
Ray Emery got his fifth win in a row yesterday against the Calgary Flames, which was also the Blackhawks fifth consecutive victory. The Hawks now sit in first place overall in the NHL with 46 points.

Ray Emery won his third consecutive start, giving him 100 career NHL wins. He stopped 35 of 37 shots last night, enough to earn him the games third star, and keep the Blackhawks in the game long enough for them to comeback and win it in overtime.
Sometimes your job isn’t fair, but you do it anyways! That was basically the story for Ray Emery last night when he came into a bad situation, made it better at the expense of his personal stats.
